Rachel qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 1997 and joined Market Vets soon after. Her main interests are in farm work and equine practice.
Rachel enjoys all aspects of farm work but is especially interested in flock health and production. Rachel enjoys working with farmers to improve the health, welfare and productivity of their flocks. Rachel also runs our practice flock club and organises knowledge transfer meetings for our farm clients. She has completed the clinical modules, including the examinations, towards her RCVS certificate in Sheep Health and Production.
As a horse owner and rider, Rachel understands the needs of our equine clients and enjoys first opinion equine practice. Rachel is also an experienced veterinary acupuncturist, providing acupuncture treatments for all animals large and small.
Rachel is a member of the Sheep Veterinary Society and British Equine Veterinary association. She has previously served on the Sheep Veterinary Society executive committee as well as being a member of the Sheep Antibiotic Guardian Group (SAGG). Rachel is also chair of the IVCE Sheep Clinical Working Group and is a current IVC Evidensia Farm Clinical Board member.
In 2023 Rachel received an RCVS Knowledge Award for antimicrobrial stewardship.
In her spare time Rachel enjoys riding her horse and walking on Exmoor and the South West Coast Path.
