Martin is a director of Market Veterinary Centre. He qualified from Cambridge in 1984 and started work at the practice in October of that year. He is an experienced practitioner in both farm and domestic animal work but spends the majority of his time working with the latter. He also fulfils management and administrative duties in conjunction with the practice manager.

Alan is a director of Market Veterinary Centre and runs the farm animal side of the Practice. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1995 and has been in farm animal practice ever since. He obtained the RCVS Certificate in Cattle Heath and Production in 2000 and a Diploma in Bovine Reproduction in 2005. Alan is interested in all areas of farm animal practice especially reproductive technologies.

Rachel graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1997 and has worked at Market Veterinary Centre ever since. She is an experienced all-rounder but spends most of her time in the large animal department. A horse owner and successful competitor Rachel leads the Equine department with an emphasis is on owner education and preventative health care. She also has a keen interest in sheep, especially preventative health care and flock health planning. Rachel is also a trained veterinary acupuncturist and is able to treat all species both large and small using the Western Approach to veterinary acupuncture.

Richard qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2004 and joined the practice that autumn. Richard is an all-rounder and enjoys the variety that mixed practice offers, dividing his time between both the farm and small animal departments. He has developed particular interests in small animal orthopaedics and on the farm side, bovine mastitis. |

Sophia graduated from Bristol University in 2006 and then joined Market Vets as part of the farm animal team. She has a keen interest in dairy cows with a particular focus on herd health work and record analysis. She runs the Interherd bureau service and has an active role in producing a proactive herd health review service. |

Craig joined the practice in Spring 2008 having returned to the UK after a year spent travelling and working overseas. Since graduating from Liverpool in 2001 he has always worked in mixed practice, spending four years working on the Cheshire plain and one year in the Staffordshire Peak district. Craig really enjoys the variety and challenges that mixed practice brings and is quite happy to see the full range of animals. |

Carly qualified from Edinburgh University in 2007, and has worked in mixed practice in Somerset until joining Market Vet Centre in April. Specific interests include diagnostic imaging and equine medicine. |

Sam graduated from the
University of Bristol in 2006 and worked
in a mixed practice for two years before
moving to Market Veterinary centre in
November 2008. Sam enjoys both large
and small animal work and has a particular
interest in dairy herd health and
diagnostic imaging, she also helps Sophia
run the Interherd Bureau Service.
Married to a local dairy farmer, Sam
enjoys spending her spare time out with
her dogs.

Becky qualified in 1994 and is head nurse at Market Veterinary Centre. The daughter of a dairy farmer Becky has worked with animals throughout her life. Becky has a special interest in animal behaviour and is working towards her BVNA certificate in animal
behaviour.

Lisa is one of our nurses and qualified in
2006. She has an array of animals at
home including reptiles, a snake, lizards,
chinchillas, cats and a dog!

Sadie joined us in February 2008; she is currently attending college on an apprenticeship programme, training to become a qualified veterinary nurse. The daughter of a local beef and sheep farmer, she has grown up with both large and small animals.

Marilyn has been with
the practice since 2000 and is the
Practice Manager. Marilyn works
behind the scenes dealing with all account
administration and the general day to day
running of the practice. When not at
work Marilyn likes to spend time walking
her flat coats across the moor and
climbing mountains the scarier the better!

Kim is one of our
receptionists and has worked for the
practice for 14 years, she has done
everything from cleaning to working behind
the scenes with animals. Kim enjoys
helping clients and their animals and
keeps the reception running smoothly from
day to day.

Ley is one of our
receptionists who started working at
Market Veterinary Centre in October 2004.
She has three grown up children and a very
youthful cat! She is interested in
walking, music and computers.
