Microchipping

If you intend to apply for an EU pet passport you will need to
have your pet microchipped for identification. However it is a
good idea to do this for most animals - as it means they can
be identified very easily if they go missing or are stolen. Often
in the case of valuable animals, such as pedigree breeds, it can
help to deter would-be thieves.

Pet passports

The PETS scheme means that pet owners can now take their
pets on holiday with them when they travel on certain routes
to certain countries.
Obtaining an EU pet passport involves your pet undergoing
vaccinations and blood tests, as well as microchipping. We can
take care of all this and issue the pet passport, as well as check
your pet after you return, but please remember that it must be
done in plenty of time. If you are travelling in Europe you must
do it at least 7 months in advance of your travel date. Please
check with us for other countries.
